Image Series of Alewife Reservation: Observations from Michael Arnott, North Cambridge Naturalist and Guide
October 30, 2009

I took a walk along the North Side Trail yesterday. I saw a Great Blue Heron, several Mallard Ducks, several Chickadees, several Gray Squirrels, a White-tailed Deer (at the Stag-horn Sumac Meadow), the scat of several Eastern Coyotes and or foxes, and Chipmunk.

The heron and the deer moved too fast to get a photo of, though I did take a photo of the Deer's track (wish I had focused better). I saw lots of scat along the trail. Most had hair in it, making me think of coyote and fox. Sadly, one of the scats also had plastic pieces in it.

The trail was in good condition except sections along the Little River before the first drainage crossing.
