BELMONT SELECTMEN UNANIMOUSLY ADOPT WAIT AND SEE REQUEST FOR UPLANDS DEVELOPER BRIAN O'NEILL OF PENNSYLVANIA

Last night we did discuss the 40B situation and at my urging, the board agreed unanimously to send a letter to the ZBA making three points:

  1. We urge the ZBA to adopt the smallest possible development if it must adopt one.
  2. We urge the ZBA to choose to conduct as much as possible of its proceedings in public, given the charged political climate.
  3. We urge the ZBA to wait until it has all relevant environmental information in hand, including the results of MEPA review.

Additionally, the Board voted to send a letter endorsing the Havern Bill – unanimously as to the study but by a 2-1 vote (Firenze dissenting) as to the moratorium provisions of the bill.
