More Special sightings at Alewife
Marj. Rines — added to website December 3, 2006

Bob Stymeist has been seeing some pretty neat birds in the Alewife area over the past couple of weeks, so Renee LaFontaine, Alan Ankers and I decided to give it a try today. We ran into Dave Lange there, a birder from Concord who would scouting for his area of the Boston Christmas Bird Count, and he joined us. Well, we missed a lot of stuff that Bob saw, but we did see

Orange-crowned Warbler - OK, so Bob saw one or more in previous trips, but not the last trip..... American Woodcock - flushed out of the understory.

Otherwise relatively ordinary stuff.... Went over to Danehy Park afterwards, but it was pretty dead except for a kestrel hunting for what looked like crickets.
