Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
I have been authorized by the Board of Directors of the Belmont Land Trust to write to you in response to your invitation to submit written comments concerning the proposed development of the Belmont Uplands site.
It is not the function of the Land Trust, nor is it our intention, to support or oppose any particular plan for this property. However, we do wish to go on record in urging the Planning Board, in its considerations of any development proposal, to accord substantial weight to issues of land conservation, and in particular the preservation of the significant animal and plant habitat on this site.
